As management gave out copies of Adams' employee handbook last month, it conveniently glossed over one fact: if the employee handbook says one thing and our contract says something else, our contract is what governs!
For example, the handbook says we are "at will." Wrong! Our contract gives us the right to just cause discipline.
There are many other discrepancies like this.
Before accepting what your boss tells you about the policies, be sure to check our contract or ask your shop steward.
